This case study describes how Vivint—now part of NRG Energy—transformed its training, onboarding, and compliance programs by replacing its custom-built LMS with Absorb LMS and Absorb Engage. After the acquisition, Vivint needed stronger reporting, better scalability, and more engaging learning experiences for its 10,000 employees, including thousands of call center staff and field technicians. Absorb delivered faster course deployment, automated enrollment, tied system access to compliance completion, and improved data visibility through flexible reporting and BI integration. Gamification, leaderboards, social learning, and even virtual escape-room challenges significantly boosted engagement and course completion. Blended role-based training, including observational checklists for technicians, accelerated learning while ensuring skill proficiency. As a result, Vivint reduced eLearning time for technicians from 24–25 hours to 8–10 hours, cut time-to-production from 68 to 39 days, and halved the time to first referral. Administrators also gained major time savings through streamlined workflows.
