This case study documents Arkema’s multi-year journey to improve the comfort, performance, and inclusivity of its protective clothing across global sites. Prompted by employee feedback, Arkema conducted one of the industry’s first multinational protective clothing audits (Proclaud®), combining mechanical testing, flame testing, industrial laundering trials, and wearer feedback from multiple plants. The selected solution—Tecasafe® Ecogreen Gridstrong XL9245—delivered improved comfort, durability, moisture management, and sustainability while supporting Arkema’s new corporate identity. Key learnings emphasize involving wearers early, deeply understanding fabric performance, and allowing sufficient time for rigorous PPE selection.
