ASTA’S NEONATAL BLOOD SCREENING PROGRAM DEPLOYS STARLIMS PUBLIC HEALTH SOLUTION
ASTA, the Costa Rican Association for the Screening and Prevention of Childhood Disabilities, implemented the STARLIMS Public Health Solution to support the country’s neonatal blood screening program. Launched by the Costa Rican Ministry of Health in 1990, the program focuses on the early detection and treatment of inherited metabolic disorders such as phenylketonuria, maple syrup disease, and galactosemia, as well as hormonal deficiencies including congenital hypothyroidism and congenital adrenal hyperplasia.
