This case study describes how the Belgium Department of Agriculture and Fisheries modernized environmental data sharing using Spotfire. Previously reliant on manual data collection and static web updates, the department needed a real-time, collaborative analytics platform. Spotfire enabled automated data ingestion, interactive visualizations, and public-facing dashboards covering agriculture, fisheries, and environmental indicators. The platform now supports approximately 50,000 users, including farmers, researchers, policymakers, and journalists. By democratizing access to trusted data, the department improved policy decision-making, strengthened stakeholder collaboration, and established itself as the authoritative source for agricultural and fisheries data in Flanders.
