MxD partnered with Betacom, Airspan, and Druid to deploy one of the first U.S. private 5G (P5G) networks using CBRS spectrum, creating a smart factory environment to advance Industry 4.0. The initiative aimed to address challenges in manufacturing automation, supply chain visibility, and cybersecurity by enabling real-time data exchange and end-to-end operational oversight. Airspan’s Open RAN infrastructure formed the backbone of the network, delivering high-performance connectivity and faster data processing. As a result, the deployment demonstrated how private 5G can significantly improve efficiency, decision-making, and competitiveness, serving as a scalable prototype for modernizing U.S. manufacturing operations.
