Bielefeld University’s Center for Biotechnology required an enterprise-grade workload management solution to handle massive bioinformatics data volumes and growing user demand. The Bioinformatics Resource Facility supported hundreds of researchers running complex sequencing, analysis, and modeling workloads. By deploying Altair Grid Engine, the center achieved higher throughput, improved resource utilization, and simplified job submission for both expert and novice users. The solution eliminated bottlenecks, improved system reliability, and enabled scalable growth. As a result, CeBiTec strengthened its research capabilities and provided a future-ready HPC environment for interdisciplinary biotechnology innovation.
