Case Study
BMO: Digital Transformation in Personal Banking
This case study examines BMO’s enterprise-wide eForms and eSignature platform, which earned the 2017 Celent Model Bank Award for Process Automation. Built with Quadient Inspire and VASCO eSignLive, the platform standardized account onboarding across 940 Canadian branches and enabled customers to open accounts by smartphone in under eight minutes. BMO reduced onboarding forms from 44 to 26 and process steps from 25 to 13, eliminated paper forms, and generated approximately 1.4 million digital documents shortly after launch. Frontline efficiency improved by 40%, audit efficiency rose by 80%, scanning errors declined by 92%, and missing-file errors fell by 66%. Greater staff capacity was estimated to support up to CAD$12 million in incremental revenue.
