This case study explains how BTC modernized smart metering platforms using SUSE Rancher Suite, SUSE Virtualization, and SUSE Storage. The solution enabled automated Kubernetes deployments in 20 minutes, efficient management of 1,900 Linux instances, and scalable infrastructure to connect one million smart meters by 2030. SUSE’s technologies improved security, replaced VMware virtualization, and supported predictable costs. BTC also became a SUSE Managed Service Provider to expand Kubernetes services.
