This case study shows how Moser-Baer AG used ProfiShark 1G to improve the development and validation of its MOBATime network time servers. Engineers needed full visibility into Ethernet traffic to verify design decisions, troubleshoot hardware and software, test interoperability, and prove whether faults originated internally or from third-party components. ProfiShark supported detailed analysis of NTP, SNMP, PTP, SyncE, link aggregation, VLAN, and priority-tagging traffic. It helped uncover CRC errors caused by an improper PCB layout, verify tagged VLAN frames and PCP values over aggregated links, and confirm compliance with IEEE 1588 timing requirements.
