Coca-Cola Improves Bottling Logistics with AGV Automation
This case study describes how Coca‑Cola improved bottling logistics by implementing an automated warehouse system with Dematic at its Cincinnati production plant. Automated Guided Vehicles remove palletized products directly from the bottling line and transport them to pallet rotators that reorient loads before storage. The pallets are then inducted into an automated storage and retrieval system, where machines place them into rack storage. A warehouse management system coordinates inventory and order fulfillment by selecting the appropriate pallets. The automation streamlined material flow, reduced manual handling, improved efficiency and accuracy, and enabled faster, more reliable handling of high‑volume bottling operations.
