Danish School Uses Black Box Emerald KVM-over-IP Technology for Reliable Remote IT Support
Helsingør Municipality in Denmark, managing IT for 17 middle schools, struggled with delays and high costs from staff traveling up to 12 miles for on-site support. To solve this, they implemented Black Box’s Emerald KVM-over-IP with Boxilla management, creating support booths where students connect devices for remote troubleshooting. Using DVI/HDMI and USB, IT staff take control, supported by webcam sessions for personal interaction. The system cut travel needs, improved response time, and gave students daily access to real-time support. The model is now being considered for broader use in other schools and city services.
