Deaton Drives Efficiency for Honda Facility
A Tier 1 supplier to Honda needed to rapidly expand production capacity in Mexico by developing a semi-automated manufacturing line capable of assembling and testing 19 distinct airbag horn variations. To handle this high product complexity without frequent manual changeovers, the supplier required an adaptable control ecosystem. Deaton Engineering solved this manufacturing challenge by deploying custom programmable logic controller and automated testing software. This specialized software platform dynamically adjusted assembly parameters and managed automated quality checks for each variation in real time. By utilizing Deaton Engineering’s software, the supplier successfully increased throughput, eliminated product changeover downtime, and met Honda’s strict global performance standards.
