Our client, a major Danish bank, needed to transform its payments data estate because payment information was scattered across multiple systems, preventing a clear end‑to‑end view for analytics and management reporting. Key areas such as product teams and financial crime operations were heavily affected, as they had to pull and interpret data from various sources with different structures—an inefficient, costly and error‑prone process. To resolve these issues, the bank engaged Icon to design a canonical data model for a new centralized payments data store, enabling consistent data representation, improved accuracy and better support for analytics and operational use cases.
