Case Study
Delivering a Gigabit Wide Area Network (WAN) to a Municipality
This case study describes how a Connecticut municipality transformed its aging communications infrastructure by deploying a converged gigabit-wide area network connecting government offices and schools. The previous environment suffered from fragmented technologies, limited application access, management complexity, and insufficient scalability. The new solution combined fiber, wireless, VPN, and broadband technologies to create a flexible, secure, and centrally managed IP network. The upgrade improved administrative control, accelerated access to educational and municipal resources, enhanced staff productivity, enabled future technology adoption, strengthened collaboration between departments, and provided a scalable foundation for expanding digital services and citizen engagement.
