Case Study
Designing a Carbon Absorber
This case study describes how Sunlux Technovations used Altair simulation tools to design a carbon absorber system for capturing CO₂ emissions. The system included more than 300 components and operated across multiple thermal and flow modes, making physical testing impractical. Using Altair HyperWorks, HyperMesh CFD, AcuSolve, and high-performance computing, Sunlux simulated airflow, pressure, and temperature distributions under steady-state and transient conditions. The simulations achieved over 90% accuracy compared to experimental data, enabling early validation and a first-time-right design. This reduced design iterations, minimized physical prototyping, shortened time to market, and improved overall product robustness.
