C-TEC leveraged Altair Unlimited on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure to perform GPU-accelerated CFD simulations required to meet strict WLTP vehicle efficiency regulations. Lacking in-house HPC expertise and hardware, C-TEC adopted a fully managed cloud solution that eliminated capital expenses and complexity. Using Altair ultraFluidX on NVIDIA GPUs, engineers optimized vehicle aerodynamics while preserving payload capacity and component reuse. The approach delivered up to 42% drag reduction and significant fuel savings while reducing computing costs by nearly half. Cloud-based simulation enabled C-TEC to expand its service portfolio and enter new markets.
