Federation University transforms HCM systems to enable a unified platform
Federation University partnered with Cognizant to modernize and unify its fragmented HR, payroll and administrative systems using Workday, creating a scalable foundation for future staff and student management. The 12-month HCM deployment standardized processes, reduced manual workarounds, and improved operational agility across multiple campuses. By focusing on simplification, minimal customization, and strong governance, the university achieved strong adoption rates and quickly expanded into additional Workday modules, including Peakon Employee Voice and LinkedIn Learning integrations. The rollout enabled a shift from annual to quarterly employee engagement surveys, improved compliance management, streamlined learning and development, and established a future-ready infrastructure supporting planned migration to AWS and future Workday Financials deployment.
