Case Study
Financial Consumer Protection Suite With Web Scraping and Machine Learning-based Analysis
The Cambridge SupTech Lab, in partnership with BSP, SEC Philippines, and Winnow Technologies, developed a prototype that uses web scraping, sentiment analysis, and machine learning to enhance financial consumer protection. The system aggregates and analyzes public data (e.g., social media, app reviews) with internal complaint data, visualized via dashboards. It enables real-time monitoring, early risk detection, and improved oversight. Built through agile development and with flexible deployment options, the tool empowers supervisors with actionable insights while ensuring data sovereignty and reducing manual workload.
