This 2024 case study describes how FNBO (First National Bank of Omaha), founded in 1857, migrated away from an on-prem Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) platform to AWS to reduce rising maintenance costs, eliminate PCF licensing, and modernize a complex estate of roughly 420 microservices. After early challenges moving workloads to Amazon EKS, Brillio supported a phased, de-risked approach that began with a pilot using a proprietary migration tool to scan and map services, then migrated about 120 microservices to AWS non-production while analyzing dependencies and provisioning required infrastructure (databases, queues, secrets, roles) using Infrastructure as Code.
