This Tier 1 UK bank needed a unified Data and Analytics platform to resolve several challenges across payments and customer data. As the payments team built a new ISO 20022‑aligned payments data store integrated with Kafka, there was limited visibility into the overall solution design, data model and system integrations. At the same time, the Data & Analytics function had to deliver highly resilient platforms using Kafka and MongoDB, ensuring no data loss and minimal disruption. Inconsistent use of customer data across analytics and reporting also led to duplication of effort and inefficiencies for customer‑focused teams. The bank therefore required clearer architecture, standardized data usage and scalable platforms to enhance and future‑proof its payments and customer data capabilities.
