High-Protection Gloves Prevent Serious Hand Injury in Lumber Mill
A forestry and lumber manufacturing company reassessed its hand protection strategy after a worker suffered a severe cut while wearing standard protective gloves. Safety managers evaluated higher-performance PPE and conducted trials with advanced cut-resistant gloves designed for extreme industrial hazards. During testing, the gloves demonstrated superior resistance to blade penetration compared with competing products. The protection was later validated in a real incident when a worker’s hand was caught by a slipping tool under significant force, but the glove prevented serious laceration and protected the worker’s fingers. Following the successful trial, the company adopted the gloves and began evaluating additional protective sleeves to further improve worker safety across the mill.
