Intel and XENON Help Oil Search Dig Deeper Into Sub-Surface Oil and Gas Analysis
Oil Search, founded in Papua New Guinea in 1929, operates nearly all of the country’s producing oil fields and holds major exploration assets, including a 29% stake in the PNG LNG Project run by ExxonMobil PNG. The 2014 launch of this LNG development transformed the company into a major regional producer with a long-term, low-cost LNG revenue stream. Oil Search also holds a significant interest in the proposed Papua LNG Project. Through a partnership with Intel and XENON, the company adopted advanced computing technologies to enhance subsurface oil and gas analysis, delivering strong cost‑to‑benefit returns for this unique industry initiative.
