This case study follows Interstellar Technologies as it tested the integrated GNSS and inertial navigation system for its ZERO small-satellite launch vehicle. Terrestrial and aircraft trials could not reproduce launch velocity, acceleration, trajectory, Doppler shift, ionospheric effects, signal blockage, and orbital conditions. Keysight supplied a high-update-rate GNSS simulation platform with SimGEN and SimINERTIAL, enabling synchronized emulation of satellite signals, receiver outputs, inertial measurements, error models, and high-dynamic trajectories up to 2 kHz. The repeatable laboratory environment confirmed that the prototype receiver met performance, integrity, and reliability requirements.
