Lewis County Public Utility District supplies reliable power to 35,000 citizens and depends on continuously available systems and data. After replacing three legacy backup products with Rubrik Security Cloud, LCPUD faced a ransomware attack triggered by a phishing email in 2019. Desktops and servers began encrypting, but the team contained the attack and restored operations within two hours with zero data loss. One server was recovered in just 1 minute and 24 seconds. Rubrik’s immutable backups gave the team confidence to follow its recovery protocol without paying the $10 million ransom demand.
