The client, a Tier 1 UK bank, sought to expand its international payments offering by onboarding a Payment Service Provider to support additional currencies. The goal was to create a cross‑currency solution allowing customers to initiate payments from GBP accounts and settle in local currencies, with future expansion to USD and EUR account origination. This capability would strengthen the bank’s competitive position, support bids for government contracts and enhance its commercial services. Early in the project, the bank recognised the need for a well‑designed, scalable architecture to ensure smooth integration, reliable settlement processes and a strong customer experience as it entered a growing global payments market.
