The Dutch National Institute for Public Health (RIVM) launched a COVID-19 vaccination portal to give citizens secure access to their vaccination data using the government’s DigiD eID system. To protect sensitive health information, Thales implemented the OneWelcome Identity Platform, providing multi-factor authentication via DigiD, UZI-pas for healthcare providers, and eHerkenning for organizations. The system ensured privacy, scalability, and compliance with strict security standards. Implemented within weeks, it enabled 17 million citizens and healthcare professionals to access and manage vaccination information safely, reinforcing RIVM’s role in national health protection.
