Managed Infrastructure Services help Westlake Hospital modernize network infrastructure for increased demand
Westlake Hospital, a 225-bed Illinois facility founded in 1927 that closed after filing for bankruptcy in 2019, was selected to temporarily reopen with 230 beds as part of the state’s COVID-19 emergency response. Synoptek was engaged to modernize legacy network infrastructure and stand up required IT systems under a very tight timeline, completing the core work in under a week by establishing remote connectivity with a Cradlepoint AER2200 router, installing a new core network while adopting efficient existing switches, replacing 150+ aging wireless access points with new Cisco Meraki access points, and building network support for 11 IDF closets across the facility, helping the hospital rapidly prepare for increased demand.
