MARTINOS CENTER AND VAST DATA REVOLUTIONIZE IMAGING RESEARCH TO ADVANCE THE STATE OF THE ART IN PATIENT CARE
VAST Data’s Universal Storage platform provided an all-flash solution that replaced their previous hard-drive systems. This platform combines low-cost flash storage with highly efficient data protection and industry-leading data reduction, allowing the Martinos Center to deploy multiple petabytes of all-flash storage affordably. VAST’s Disaggregated Shared-Everything (DASE) architecture offers the necessary scalability and high performance to support four NVIDIA DGX-A100 servers used for GPU deep learning and training applications. The center’s new infrastructure features a high-bandwidth, low-latency RDMA-capable fabric connecting compute and storage, enabling researchers to access the full image catalog seamlessly without moving or copying data across the data center.
