Case Study
Mitigating Musculoskeletal Injuries at a Distribution Facility
This case study describes how a large apparel distribution facility significantly reduced musculoskeletal injuries and workers’ compensation costs by implementing an onsite health program led by an athletic trainer. The trainer provided immediate injury assessment, job-specific ergonomic analyses, return-to-work planning, and preventive coaching. Within one year, the facility reduced total injury claims costs by 73.7%, while improving early intervention, employee recovery, and workplace safety. The results demonstrate how proactive, onsite injury prevention programs can deliver measurable cost savings, improved productivity, and better long-term workforce health.
