National Australia Bank modernized secure access by implementing the Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange to support its cloud-first banking strategy. As customer demand surged during the pandemic, the bank rapidly deployed Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) to more than 22,000 users, enabling secure remote work for 18,000 employees in less than one month while handling three to four times normal banking transaction volumes. Replacing legacy VPN infrastructure with zero trust access reduced the attack surface, eliminated costly hardware expansion, and provided seamless connectivity for employees regardless of location. Together with Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA), the platform strengthened security, improved scalability, and supported the bank's long-term digital transformation initiatives
