NEXTDC brings the edge to remote Australia region with Vertiv modular solution

Pages 3 Pages

This case study examines how NEXTDC partnered with Vertiv to deploy an edge data center in Port Hedland, one of Australia’s most remote and challenging regions. High latency, extreme temperatures, and geographic isolation limited cloud adoption for local industries. Vertiv delivered a fully prefabricated modular data center featuring Liebert® UPS systems, CRV4 and DM cooling, lithium-ion batteries, and ruggedized infrastructure designed for extreme heat and cyclonic winds. The facility was completed in just 12 months and achieved Tier III certification. The solution reduced latency, enabled AI and HPC workloads, supported sustainability initiatives, and brought enterprise-grade digital infrastructure closer to critical industries in the Pilbara region.
