Nurturing a thriving esports community on campus
The University of South Florida (USF) partnered with Lenovo to build a thriving, community-focused esports program that enhances student engagement, competition, and career development. Seeking to unite grassroots gaming groups and create meaningful experiences for students, USF relied on Lenovo’s esports consulting expertise and Legion gaming hardware to establish the foundation for its program. Today, USF’s esports initiative operates around community, competition, and career readiness, supporting 11 collegiate esports clubs, more than 3,500 members in its official Discord community, and academic offerings such as a Business of Esports course.
