Ohio Dominican University (ODU), a Catholic liberal arts university in Ohio, needed a more efficient and reliable infrastructure to support uninterrupted access to academic systems. Before deploying StarWind Virtual SAN (VSAN), the university relied on three IBM DS3400 SANs connected via Fibre Channel, which occupied significant rack space and were increasingly difficult to manage, maintain, and upgrade. To modernize its environment, ODU implemented StarWind VSAN and built a high-availability cluster with shared storage and real-time data synchronization. The solution improved fault tolerance, simplified infrastructure management, reduced hardware complexity, and eliminated single points of failure. As a result, the university ensured continuous access to critical educational applications
