Optimizing the Energy Exchange of an Induction Hob System at Groupe SEB
Groupe SEB used Altair Flux and HyperStudy to optimize the thermal and electromagnetic performance of an induction hob system. Engineers needed to design an efficient cooking pan while reducing development costs and physical testing. A parametric virtual model enabled rapid exploration of different geometries, materials, and operating conditions. Coupled multiphysics simulations provided insight into heat distribution and energy efficiency. The approach eliminated inefficient designs early and reduced prototype iterations. Ultimately, Groupe SEB delivered an optimized pan design faster, at lower cost, and with improved performance, demonstrating the value of simulation-driven product development.
