The University of California’s UC Scout program produces a large volume of multimedia content to help high school students meet eligibility requirements for California universities. At the UCSC Silicon Valley campus, media creators faced storage limitations after producing thousands of videos for dozens of online courses. To free up space on a nearly full media server, the department deployed a cloud backup solution integrated with CatDV asset management. This approach restored server capacity while allowing staff to directly access and manage cloud-based assets through CatDV, improving efficiency and long-term scalability.
