Case Study
Reducing Machine Hazards with Smarter Risk Assessment
This case study describes how a paper coating and converting facility improved machine safety by conducting a comprehensive machine risk assessment that identified hazards associated with paper slitting equipment and in-floor conveyors. Instead of using conventional audible alarms in a noisy environment, the solution introduced highly visible flashing warning lights to alert operators before conveyor movement. The approach significantly reduced near-miss incidents, increased employee confidence, improved conveyor utilization, reduced production downtime, and was successfully replicated across multiple areas of the plant.
