Case Study
Replacement of a document-based business process
Deutsche Bahn modernized a document-based business process by using Camunda to automate workflows across company boundaries and significantly reduce processing times. Supported by its IT partner DB Systel, the initiative replaced manual, paper-driven procedures with executable process models based on BPMN 2.0. Camunda’s open architecture and developer-friendly approach enabled greater flexibility and agility while integrating with existing systems. The transformation marked an important step toward standardized, automated process execution, improving efficiency, transparency, and scalability across complex, cross-organizational workflows within one of the world’s largest transport and logistics groups.
