Case Study
Restoring Chiller Reliability Through Tube Sheet Rehabilitation
This case study describes how a hotel avoided a potential cooling outage by restoring severely corroded chiller tube sheets instead of replacing them. Faced with warm-weather demand, difficult equipment access, long replacement lead times, and high capital costs, the facility implemented an in-place restoration approach using specialized surface preparation, corrosion repair, and protective coating technology. The project rebuilt damaged metal surfaces, protected against future corrosion and fouling, and restored both chillers to service without major disruption. The result was improved equipment reliability, enhanced chiller efficiency, reduced risk of failure, and uninterrupted guest comfort during a critical operating period.
