San Joaquin County supports 750,000 residents and critical services spanning public assistance, law enforcement, healthcare, payroll, and government administration. After moving away from tape, the County found its previous Cohesity deployment could not protect roughly 40% of its data, struggled with Office 365 restores, and lacked ransomware protection. Rubrik replaced multiple systems with a standardized enterprise-wide platform and now protects more than 90% of the County environment, including Microsoft and Oracle workloads. Oracle database restores fell from roughly 12 hours to minutes, while native immutability protects archived data from ransomware. Eliminating licensing, tapes, and hardware delivered 40% TCO savings, and one full-time IT role previously dedicated to tape management
