Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS), a global biopharmaceutical company, partnered with Lenovo to make its IT procurement practices more sustainable as part of its broader commitment to achieve net-zero emissions across its operations and value chain by 2050. After conducting sustainability workshops with Lenovo, BMS identified opportunities to reduce the environmental impact of hardware procurement by shifting from air freight to ocean freight and adopting bulk packaging solutions. These changes required closer collaboration on demand planning and supply chain management to ensure device availability while reducing emissions.
