Case Study
Solving Hydrogen Flange Sealing Challenges
This case study explains how a multinational industrial gas company resolved corrosion and sealing problems on a hydrogen and nitrogen gas pipe flange connection located in a difficult installation area near a tank body. Because hydrogen molecules are extremely small and prone to leakage, the connection required exceptional sealing performance and fire-safe compliance. Space limitations prevented the use of standard isolation gaskets. A thinner isolation gasket design with a PTFE sealing element was selected to fit the constrained flange gap while delivering reliable sealing, corrosion protection, and certified fire-safe performance for hydrogen service.
