Town of Atherton Ditches Standalone Solutions for SonicWall Simplicity
The Town of Atherton, a 60-employee municipal government in central California serving about 7,000 residents, replaced a patchwork of aging HP and Cisco switches, Unifi access points, and SonicWall NSa 2650 firewalls that caused inconsistent performance and reliability and had little remaining hardware support. After evaluating multiple vendors, Atherton standardized on SonicWall’s integrated platform by deploying two NSa 2700 next-generation firewalls, SonicWave access points, and SonicWall switches, using Wireless Network Manager to configure a new wireless environment that met different Town and Police requirements, delivered POE+ for VoIP and Wi-Fi, and provided a 10Gb backbone.
