VEJ-EU redesigned its certification program for road workers using a blended adaptive learning approach to replace traditional classroom training. The challenge was addressing diverse learner needs while reducing time and cost. The solution moved theoretical learning to adaptive modules and transformed classroom sessions into interactive problem-solving experiences. Results included 100% certification pass rates, reduced learning time from 8 hours to under 3, and elimination of overnight training requirements. The program improved engagement, accessibility, and efficiency, demonstrating the effectiveness of adaptive learning in safety-critical training environments.
