Water Monitoring Sensor Detects Leak, Saves $50K at Vacant School
This case study highlights how proactive monitoring prevented major damage at a vacant school during pandemic closures. Shortly after installation, AlertAQ detected abnormal water usage and sent an early morning alert to maintenance staff. The issue was traced to a leaking cushion tank releasing hundreds of gallons per hour. Because the alert was received immediately, the team was able to repair the problem within hours, preventing what could have escalated into significant water damage. As shown on page 1, the early intervention avoided approximately $50,000 in potential losses and demonstrated the importance of real-time monitoring for unoccupied buildings.
