Case Study
WLAN for Citizens Publicly accessible, secure, stable
A major German city decided to offer free, easy‑to‑use public Wi‑Fi for its residents following a political resolution. Around 115 publicly accessible locations, including cultural venues, museums, youth and leisure facilities, and citizens’ offices, were selected for WLAN deployment. To minimize liability risks, the city chose to deliver the service through an external provider. Damovo was selected as the partner due to its existing role in reliably managing the city’s LAN, WLAN, and unified communications services. Using a centralized WLAN management approach, the solution ensured secure, stable, and scalable public internet access, enhancing digital inclusion and improving connectivity for citizens across key public spaces.
