Simplified macOS Upgrade Workflow. Jamf School
This guide outlines a simplified workflow for upgrading Mac devices to macOS Sequoia using Jamf School. Before deploying a new Apple operating system, organizations should assess software compatibility, test system stability, and ensure the update meets their operational requirements. A key decision is whether to upgrade immediately or delay deployment. Jamf School provides tools to postpone upgrades by blocking the macOS installer through a macOS Profile, preventing users from installing the new operating system before IT approval. In addition, mobile device management (MDM) can defer macOS updates for up to 90 days, giving administrators time to validate applications, resolve compatibility issues, and prepare devices for a smooth and controlled rollout across the organization.
