The 2026 Global Trade Report, based on a survey of 225 professionals, shows trade departments gaining unprecedented strategic importance as companies face tariff volatility. Once viewed as cost centers, they are now key business partners influencing enterprise success. About 40% report increased executive-level influence, while 37% are more involved in decision-making and 43% have greater input in procurement. Tariff volatility is the most significant challenge, cited by 72% of respondents. At the same time, 40% of organizations are exploring technologies such as AI and blockchain to enhance trade operations, reflecting a clear shift toward innovation and strategic integration.
