Achieving Circularity in Beauty Products
Beauty companies are increasingly focusing on packaging as they pursue ambitious circularity goals for the next decade. Packaging accounts for up to 40 percent of Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions and represents more than half of plastic, paper, and glass urban waste in the US, making it a critical sustainability challenge. While many companies have set targets to reduce packaging waste, approaches vary widely and execution remains complex. Achieving true circularity will require careful planning, robust strategies, and coordinated action across materials, design, sourcing, and recycling systems to meaningfully reduce environmental impact.
