Analysis of generative AI initiatives in financial services shows that banks leading with strong technology and data foundations achieve faster and more effective results. A higher share of initiatives move from concept to implementation in under 45 days, realize value more quickly once implemented, and exceed most of their performance targets within the first six months. These banks consistently rank among top performers, including on customer experience measures such as Net Promoter Score. The findings highlight that success with generative AI depends less on experimentation alone and more on robust technology capabilities, high-quality data, and disciplined execution.
