Many companies are falling short in preparing for supply chain disruptions, even as the issue becomes more critical. Nearly two-thirds of executives say supply chain resilience is extremely important, yet only a small share of companies are prioritizing the key challenges required to strengthen it. While overall investment remains limited, leading companies are taking a more focused approach by creating dedicated supply chain resilience roles. They concentrate on redesigning products to improve component flexibility, diversifying manufacturing locations to reduce geographic risk, and increasing visibility and connectivity across all supplier tiers to limit single points of failure.
